Late March Party

I hope this is the official kick off to the 2008 season of fun and buffoonery. It was not a Frat Party...but simply a late March party...can't wait for the warm weather to set in!

icy shoreline

Most of the ice has disappeared now but a few ice cycles make for some cool pictures along the shore on Saturday afternoon. Sunny and clear but only 30 degrees today.

Half way home

Spencer and AngelFish are almost back from the sunshine state. As you can see by the graphic they are on a Southwest B737 at flight level 390 doing 420 knots enroute from KFLL to KBUF.

Center Street

Went to the Center Street Smokehouse in Batavia for a fund raiser Friday night in memory of Brent . Proceeds from this fund raiser will go towards a high school weight room, a scholarship in Brent’s name, and an anorexia support group started by Pat & Roy. It was a really good turn out, lots of prizes and a few beers were tossed back as well!

Dumped on

It just kept coming! Thats why we have over 18" of snow on the deck. Its hard to walk in it when its almost up to your knees. Maybe I'll get some snow shoes. Lockport actually got over 2 feet of snow according to the WIVB weather blog. Here are some totals from the storm:
Perrysburg: 25.5
Lockport: 25.5
N. Tonawanda: 22.0
East Aurora: 17.0
Warsaw: 17.0
South Dayton: 14.0
I hope everyone remembered to SPRING ahead today!

Nor-Easter

Getting some rather impressive snow this weekend, my table on the deck gives you an idea of how much fell so far. We are going to get more this afternoon and tonight. Don Paul says its not a blizzard though, not windy enough.

Banyon Trees

This is the Banyon Tree tunnel just up the road from Sandsprit Park. Annette and I rode our bikes up there last week. I can't wait to get back! Zing dada bing!

A Winter Day on Lake Ontario

This is what the Bluemle/Herstek compound looks like in early March...since it is a pretty good bet that they won't be down there to see it!

"Where's that confounded bridge"

Denise knows a good action shot when she sees one. Thanks to the nice folks from the Northern Erie Sno-seekers snowmobile club we were able to cruise over this stream without getting our sleds wet.....they sure know how to make a bunch of nice trails

Trail break

Had some big snowflakes today while riding through the wooded area on the snowmobile trail.
Nice day for a ride....could have been a few degrees colder though.

sunset on the trail

Took a nice tour of the Northern Erie Sno-Seekers trails today. Stopped for a quick sunset pic before heading back to home base. Could be our last ride of the year but you never know when the next snowmaker will hit!
